Project overview
SOLAR & 3 PHASE WHOLE HOUSE BACKUP
A residential solar and battery system designed to reduce grid electricity use, provide whole-home backup power and allow for future expansion.

Customer need
The customer wanted to significantly reduce their electricity bill while providing backup power to the whole house. Supporting Australian manufacturing was important, along with high-quality equipment, installation aesthetics and the ability to expand the system in the future.
What we did
- Assessed electricity use across the day and throughout the year.
- Installed 13.2kW of Australian made Tindo solar panels.
- Used an all-black mounting system for a clean appearance.
- Installed a Fronius GEN24 10kW hybrid inverter and 15.8kWh Fronius Reserva battery.
- Located the inverter and battery equipment inside the garage, protected from the weather.
- Power monitoring and app setup.
- Concealed all cabling and conduits behind the plywood wall panelling.
How it helped
After six months, grid electricity use was practically eliminated, with self-sufficiency sitting between 90% and 96%. The system provides solar power during the day while charging the battery for overnight use, with backup power available during blackouts. Capacity remains for future battery expansion, and load control can be configured when the planned pool equipment is installed to make better use of excess solar production.
