ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
FOR NEW FACILITIES
& EXPANSIONS.

We handle the electrical side of machinery additions, production changes and expansions within industrial facilities. Bring us the requirement and we’ll work through what the existing electrical system needs to support it.

What we help with

Common reasons we’re brought in

  • New machinery needs to be installed and the electrical requirements need to be worked out
  • An existing production area is being expanded or changed
  • The existing supply or distribution may not have enough capacity for the proposed equipment
  • Equipment needs to be relocated or integrated into another part of the plant

How we approach the work

01

Understand what is changing

We start with what the customer wants to add or change and how the equipment or area will be used. Where we are involved early, we can work through the electrical requirements before the project gets too far along.

02

Work out the electrical requirements

We look at the equipment requirements, existing supply and distribution, switchboard capacity, cable routes and any controls or data required. This establishes what can use the existing infrastructure and what needs to change.

03

Plan and carry out the work

We plan the electrical work around the project and the operation of the site. Work that can be completed during production is separated from work requiring a shutdown, and we coordinate with the other people involved.

Existing supply and network work

Where the existing supply is not adequate, we can plan the required electrical changes and coordinate network work through our Level 1 construction, Level 2 connection and Level 3 design partners.

Future plans

We work best when we’re kept informed about equipment and changes being considered for the site. It helps us understand how the work being done now may affect future projects.

Questions people ask

When should we involve you?

Ideally while the equipment or change is still being planned. The earlier we understand what is proposed, the easier it is to assess the existing electrical system and work out what needs to change.

Can you tell us if our existing electrical system can support new equipment?

Yes. We can review the equipment requirements, existing supply, distribution and switchboards to work out what can remain and what may need to be upgraded.

Can you carry out the work while the plant is operating?

Some work can be completed during normal production, while other work requires a shutdown or isolation. We plan this with the site based on the work involved and the available production windows.

Can you coordinate with our project team and equipment suppliers?

Yes. Depending on the project, we work with project managers, site engineers, maintenance and production staff, builders, civil contractors, automation specialists, equipment suppliers and other electrical contractors.

Discuss your project

Tell us what equipment or change you’re planning and where the project is up to. If you already have equipment information or know when the work needs to happen, include that in the description.
