Project overview
MIXER GENSET MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER REPLACEMENT
Urgently replacing a failed mixer genset main circuit breaker to minimise production downtime.

Customer need
During three years of ongoing project support at a Newcastle construction site, the mixer genset’s 400A main circuit breaker (MCCB) failed to close, preventing the equipment from operating. Onsite testing identified unstable load-side voltages and significant dust contamination within the breaker enclosure.
What we did
- Provided phone support and attended site to investigate the fault.
- Tested the genset supply and confirmed the failed 400A main circuit breaker.
- Urgently sourced and installed a replacement MCCB.
- Replaced the dust-contaminated RCD module.
- Tested and commissioned the mixer with the new MCCB installed.
- Located and repaired a compressor controller fuse fault during commissioning.
How it helped
The fast repair allowed production to continue with minimal downtime. Thorough testing and commissioning confirmed the new MCCB was operating correctly and identified the secondary compressor fault, allowing the auxiliary equipment to be repaired at the same time.
